Energy rating

Energy ratings are an important tool for comparing the energy efficiency of appliances. As a supplier of an electrical appliance, you can use the rating to allow your customers to compare your products with your competitor's.

Energy ratings set out Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) and labelling requirements for common appliances, to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

To help your customers make an informed choice, it is mandatory that an Energy Rating Label be attached to these products at point of sale:

  • refrigerators
  • freezers
  • clothes washers
  • clothes dryers
  • dishwashers
  • air-conditioners.
